By leveraging the employer's voice for employee onboarding, we decreased the median first login time from 7.4 to 3.5 days, resulting in less toil for an employer to chase their employees to sign documents and reducing churn rate within the first 30 days by 11%.
Bambee’s data team identified a crucial correlation between employee onboarding time and customer churn rate. To address this issue, the product team was tasked with finding ways to reduce the time it took for the employees to sign documents within the first 30 days of a company’s tenure with Bambee. Analysis revealed that the automated notifications lacked engagement, hindering the desired outcome.
We explored a few options including removing the need for an employee to create an account to sign a document and modifying the automated email to be more engaging. Ultimately, we landed on a combination of increasing visibility of employees who had not signed documents and leveraging the employer's voice to meet our goal. Through strategic design updates, we aimed to establish stronger connections between employers and new hires.
By implementing our multi-faceted solution, we successfully reduced the median first login time from 7.4 to 3.5 days. This outcome directly contributed to improved onboarding efficiency and mitigated the risk of customer churn.
By implementing key design updates, we transformed the onboarding experience for Bambee. We created a new pattern for employee cards that showcased essential details that communicated employee signature status to employers. Simultaneously, we revamped the educational banner pattern to provide clear guidance and instructions for employers, helping employers take necessary action to get their employees to sign documents.
Additionally, we introduced messaging functionality exclusively for admins, enabling direct one-way communication between employers and new hires. This functionality helped employers communicate required actions to their employees . As a result of our efforts, the median first login time decreased significantly from 7.4 to 3.5 days helping to reduce churn rate within the first 30 days by 11%.
