Designed a 0-to-1 new product offering to cater to 0-employee companies, resulting in 33% of customers successfully hiring their first employee within 60 days.
Bambee, a leading HR service provider, historically overlooked companies with no employees, assuming that they would provide limited value and pose a higher risk of refund. However, due to a consistent number of leads being passed on by the sales team in this category, our business partners sought to explore the potential of creating a product tailored specifically for 0-employee companies.
Through thorough analysis of sales calls, interviews with Bambee sales agents, and a competitive landscape analysis, we identified two distinct audiences that fit this segment: business owners looking to hire their first employee compliantly and companies primarily hiring contractors but seeking compliance guidance. We took a pragmatic approach by focusing on the majority audience and leveraging primarily existing parts of the Bambee platform to create a guided experience. This approach minimized engineering investment while validating the growing demand for compliant hiring solutions.
We successfully helped 33% of customers within this segment who tried this experience hire their first employee on Bambee within a span of just 60 days. To achieve this, we built a guided experience that seamlessly integrated with the existing platform, keeping costs low and maximizing efficiency.
Our solution directly addressed the market need by assisting companies looking to hire their first employee in compliance. By guiding employers through the hiring process and ensuring compliance with regulations, we offered a valuable service that eliminated the risks associated with uncharted territory for these companies. Additionally, we recognized that companies with employees are more likely to have ongoing HR needs, aligning our solution with their long-term growth and requirements.
